Basic Autopac Coverage (Mandatory)

Every motorcycle registered in Manitoba must have Basic Autopac, which includes:
  • Collision and Upset Coverage: Protects your bike if it tips over or is damaged in a collision, up to your self-assessed value (maximum $70,000).
  • Third-Party Liability: $500,000 coverage for claims if you damage someone else’s property or cause injury/death.
  • Personal Injury Protection Plan (PIPP): Covers medical expenses and income replacement for injuries.
  • Standard Deductible: $1,000 (can be lowered for an extra cost).

Optional Extension Coverages

You can enhance your protection with these add-ons:
  • Increased Liability Limits: Raise coverage from $1 million to $5 million.
  • Lower Deductibles: Reduce your deductible to $200 or $300.
  • Comprehensive Coverage: Covers non-collision risks like fire, theft, vandalism, and windstorm.
  • Loss of Use Coverage: Provides a rental or alternative transportation if your bike is being repaired.
  • New Vehicle Protection: For brand-new motorcycles to cover depreciation.

Seasonal Premium Structure

Coverage is year-round, but premiums are charged mainly during the riding season (May 1 – Sept 30). This means you stay insured even in winter storage without paying extra during off-season
